A valid driving licence document must be submitted for successful registration with Ola. It is a pink photo card demonstrating your full UK driving licence. All driving licences issued by Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) are now issued in EU format - a plastic photocard. Old format style licences are still valid and will be updated gradually as they are renewed and replaced.
Drivers can visit the website gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence to apply for a driving licence. The required documents and registration process guidelines can be found on the website for reference.
Drivers can visit the website gov.uk/renew-driving-licence to renew their existing driving licence. The required documents and renewal process guidelines can be found on the website for reference.
Anyone who drives a licenced private hire vehicle must hold a licence to do so from the city council, in every circumstance. This is because the vehicle remains licenced whether or not it is hired or available for hire. This document will be in the form of paper, as well as a badge.
Visit gov.uk website here and enter your DVLA driving licence number, national insurance number and postcode. After entering your details, select “share your licence information”, to generate a DVLA check code. Take a screenshot of your code and upload the same. Please note that DVLA check code is valid for only 21 days from the date of generation.
If you own a car, then you will have a V5C. This is the official name for the registration form for your car and it's a vital piece of paperwork when it comes to buying or selling a car. It's commonly known as the ‘log book’ or ‘V5’, and this document includes all of the crucial details about your car that are also held on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) database. It also includes information about the current and past keepers of the vehicle. For further information visit gov.uk/vehicle-log-book.
Your national insurance number is a number used in the United Kingdom in the administration of the ‘national insurance’ or social security system. It is also used for some purposes in the UK tax system. The number is described by the government of the United Kingdom as a "personal account number."
You cannot apply for a national insurance number online. Applicants must call the Jobcentre Plus – national insurance number allocation service to request one. Phone: 0345 600 0643
We understand it’s preferential for your last ride of the day to take you closer to home. Our ‘Go-To’ feature allows you to pick a destination that’s convenient for you, where Ola can allocate bookings heading in the same direction. You may use this feature twice in a day.
If you accumulate 10 hours of 'in-trip' driving time within 24 hours from the start of a shift, we will put you on an enforced rest of 8 hours, where you will not be able to log-on and take trips. In-trip' driving time starts from the moment that you accept a trip until the time the trip finishes (either drop off or cancellation).
Driving for long periods of time without taking breaks increases the risk of accidents that can harm you, your passengers and other road users.
Ola London driver partners are only able to do pick-up and drop-offs within the London TFL area. However you will be able to pick-up OR drop-off outside of this area, only if one of them is based in the TFL area (for example trips to and from Stansted Airport)
As per the training video, please first try to contact the customer via our Driver Support.
